The Area 34 Corrections Committee focuses on helping those in custody throughout Western Michigan (Area 34). We also participate in Michigan State Wide Service Committee that expands our scope of service to the entire state of Michigan These Committees focus on the following:

  • We Bring meetings inside and providing literature to facilities.
  • We Raise awareness about The Corrections Correspondence Service (CCS) among A.A. (CCS) members inside the facilities as well as those A.A. (CCS) members on the outside the facilities who are helping those inside find recovery.
  • We help persons in custody transition to a local A.A. community through the Pre-Release contact Program (PRCP) among A.A. (PRCP members inside the facilities as well as those A.A. (PRCP) members outside the facilities who are helping those inside find recovery.
  • We Inform correctional officials, A.A. members inside, and A.A. members outside about digital A.A. literature.

Corrections Correspondence Program (CCS):

The forms below are used by corrections committee members who bring the A.A. message inside correctional facilities. The CCS from is not intended for involuntary signups from a third party (signing up for someone else.) Our experience shows that unsolicited sign up may delay a persons decision to turn to A.A. for help.  Instead please have the “inside” A.A. person in custody complete the form and contact us directly. so we can assist them in their request. Mail completed form to:

General Service Office, PO Box 459,  Grand Central Station. New York, NY 10164

You will be contacted by the GSO via email. Most AA members use their home address since we match people by distance of 700 miles or greater. Some ask their AA Group, Intergroup, or Central Office to use their PO Box for receiving mail from a person in custody.

The A.A. Corrections Pre-Release Program

connects the A.A. member who is within 6 months of being released to the Alcoholics Anonymous community.
