Area 34 Standing Service Committees
Area 34 standing service committee’s meet regularly to coordinate the efforts of A.A. volunteer’s who are carrying A.A.’s message of hope. Each committee is part of A.A.’s great whole who’s primary purpose is to carry the message to the Alcoholic who still suffers. The Area Assembly expands to local community District Committee’s and individual groups throughout Western Michigan.
Many newcomers first hear about A.A.’s life saving message through the volunteer work of these A.A. volunteer’s.
If you are an A.A. MEMBER who would like get involved in SERVICE with Area 34, please contact any one of these committee’s.
We also encourage District volunteers to connect with their respective counterpart to keep us united!
Western Michigan Alcoholics Anonymous encompasses the entire west coast of Lake Michigan, from the Indiana state line to the Eastern portion of the Michigan Upper Peninsula at the Canadian boarder.
Thanks to technology, some service committees can attend to A.A. business by meeting virtually.

Archives Committee
The Archives Committee works to collect, preserve, and share the history of Area 34 Alcoholics Anonymous. The Archives Committee encourage groups and districts to pass along history for the purpose of preserving A.A. archives in Area 34!

Accessibilities Committee
The Accessibilities Committee has a very broad range of responsibilities. We serve those who have challenges accessing A.A. meetings, events, literature, and those who struggle with finding a connection to A.A. for a variety of reasons.

Corrections Committee
The Corrections Committee raises awareness about the Corrections Correspondence Service (CCS) among A.A. members inside as well as A.A. members on the outside. We help persons in custody transition to the A.A. community through the Pre-Release Contact Program. We inform correctional official, A.A. members on the outside to digital A.A. literature.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee serves in making sound and responsible financial decisions for the Area 34 Assembly body. The Finance Chair also serves as the Alternate Treasurer.

Grapevine Committee
The Grapevine (A.A.’s meeting in print) can be a lifeline to alcoholics living in remote communities, those confined, and those with special needs. The Grapevine is offered digitally.

Handbook Keeper
The Handbook Keeper serves to preserve the Area 34 Handbook and update guidelines as requested by committees and the Area 34 Assembly.

Literature Committee
The literature Committee acts as a liaison between various service entities to keep Area 34 A.A. members informed about new publications, literature, and price changes.

PI/CPC Committee
The Public Information Committee (PI) committee provides information to the public with accurate up to date information about Alcoholics Anonymous.
Cooperation with the Professional Community provides information to those who have contact with alcoholics through their professions.

Registrar/Directories
Committee
Alcoholics Anonymous Area 34 Registrar is a trusted servant who is responsible for maintaining records of groups in Area 34, and for communicating information to our GSO about these groups. The Registrar is also responsible for publishing the Area 34 Directory.

Area 34 Technology & Communications Committee touches all things involving Technology throughout in Area 34 and throughout our Fellowship. Ee are the communications hub for Area 34 Trusted Servants.
